Workflow - Dual approval (2 approvers) - restrict 1 user from approving twice.

Hi All,

I need 2 approvers in this WF.  How do I tell the system that after the 1st person had approved, it cannot be assigned to the same person to approve again.  It has to be approved by 2 different individuals?    Where do I look to find that feature?  Is this standard feature? Thanks so much!

    Hi Kim,

Di you have one approval step or multiple in this workfow? What exact assignment type are you using here? Which role did you assign ad how many persons are assigned to this role? Please provide some relevant information so we would be able to understand the full scenario.

If you have one step and an assignment type where it would return only two users, then the setup is already correct.

Thanks, Andre', for your response.  I use User Group and assigned 2 persons to approve the journal.  After the 1st approver approved, I assigned to him again and he was able to approve which is not what I want.  So, I'm looking for that restriction.  1 person can only approve 1 time.  I hope this answer your questions.  Thanks.

What's your workflow behavior if you don't manually re-assign to the 1st user?  By manually assigning, you might be interrupting the natural behavior.

    Hi Kim,

Do you mean to say that you were assigned as well, but you delegated it to the 1st approver? If the 2 users are fixed, you can consider disabling the delegation option for the users in the workflow configuration. In case of re-assignment, a system administrator would then need to assign a task to another user.
