some California municipalities have a tax rate of .125%. AX 2009 only allows 2 decimal points when adding the rate and rounds it up to .13. This rate will calculate incorrectly.

Hello Mary Anne, I've exactly the same problem.
The solution I found is to change the property "NoOfDecimals" from "Auto" to 3 in the extended data type "TaxValue".
I'm currently testing the fix, and seems ok but consider that this modify will have an impact on all the fields that use that extended data type, so really in all AX.
Unfortunately I cannot assure you this is the best way to solve this problem.

Lorenzo Ascione
Hello,
sorry for resurecting this thread. We're facing the same issue with the provicnial Sales Tax in Quebec. I've change the extended datatype to 3 decimals and so far, it seems to be good.
I'm curious to know if you caught any pitfalls after this modification? Or from anyone who did change the number of decimals of the TaxValue datatype.
Eric
Just to follow-up on my own personal interrogations, we've been using the TaxValue datatype with 3 decimals for five months now, without any problem. Sounds effective after all!
