The form with name XXX could not be opened

Hello,

When I try to open the form via menu item, which I put in menu, or directly from project by "Start" button (Form is set as startup object" it gives the error message "The form with name XXX could not be opened".

DB synch, model build with depending packages are done.

What other steps should I take?

I just started to work with 365 on our test server.

Thanks.

    Hi Johnny,

    Do you have any customizations/extensions or ISV solutions installed on this environment? If so, please check if there are some new or changed data entities. If yes, check the properties PublicCollectionName and PublicEntityName. The values of these properties should be unique across the application. If you e.g. copied an existing entity and did not change the names, you would get this error.

    Hi André,

    This is totally new Contoso environment. Could you let me know where exactly to check the PublicCollectionName and PublicEntityName properties?

    Thanks.

    It may mean that the form throws an exception on initialization. Review / debug code there.

    Hi Martin,

    I override the init method and put the breakpoint to super();

    When I hit F11, it gave: "An exception of type 'Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.Xpp.InfoException' occurred in aoskernel.dll but was not handled in user code"

    All right, it's indeed an exception. Look at details of the exception object; you should see it in a special $exception variable in Locals window. Alternatively start the form directly (instead of through the menu item); I would probably see the error message in infolog.
