Error in all reports "The target principal name is incorrect"

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Dear All,

we are using AX2012 R2 and all users now are getting an error in all report "The target principal name is incorrect".

Initially it's working fine. Suddenly AX service was not starting due to error in event viewer related to SYSTIMEZONESVERSION and after trying to update it manually and put again the previous value the service started !!.

But still all report not working and give this error "The target principal name is incorrect".

Could you please let me know How to resolve this error?

And what was the reason of the first issue (ax service) as we did not change any thing in our environment .

Thanks!

Regards.

    HI,

    This happens when you change the AOS service account.  The XML in the AX config file for WCF contains a whole bunch of lines that say

    <userPrincipalName value="AosUser@YourDomain.com" />

    Just open AX Client Configuration utility and refresh your configuration (and Business Connector) that you are using.

    Also, check your Business Connector configuration, because I believe that is what SSRS uses by default if you don't have a custom AXC for it.  If you do have a custom one, make sure to refresh that one too.

    Then stop/start your SSRS instance.
