Table field created by which user.

Hi,

What is the easiest way to know the user details who has created a field of a table.

For example, I have table called tablex, which contains a number of fields called
Fielda, Fieldb, Fieldc etc.

What is the easiest way to know who has created fieldb? And when the property of fieldb has been last updated
and by which user.

Regards,

Hossain

AOT > System documentation > Tables > SysModelElement > Right click > Table browser.

Filter ElementType for "44" (Tables) and Name for "tablex", take note of RecId value.

Now filter ElementType for "42" (TableFields), Name for "fieldb" and ParentModelElement for the RecId above, take note of RecId value. This is your field that belongs to the tablex table.

Now table browse SysModelElementData and filter ModelElement to the fields' RecId retrieved above, and you will get the created date/by and modified date/by.

You may find the same information under Tools menu > Model management > Model elements. Filter the column Type for "TableField", Parent name for "tablix" and Name for "fieldb".

    Hi Vilmos,

    Many thanks for your reply.

I was wondering if there are ways to find out about database table / column information quickly form SQL.

    Thanks for the right solution.

    Regards,

    Hossain

Yes it is possible in SQL too, the SysModelElement is a SQL database view in the _model DB. You can query/filter it the same way as explained above, just with T-SQL statements.

    Glad I could help
