Where to customise "Convert to Lead" form

Posted on by 122

Hi all,

I would like to customise the fields in the "Convert to Lead" form.

Scenario:

Emails are directed to a queue. When opening an email, one can convert the email activity to a lead. A pop-up window (form) appears with pre-populated fields for the Lead's names and email address. I would like to either stop the system from pre-populating these fields to rather force the user to capture in the information.

Where do I find this and how can I stop the info from being pre-populated in the "Convert to Lead" form from the email activity?

TIA

There is no supported way to do this. You could :

    1. Hide the out of the box button and create a new button using Ribbon workbench

    2. Create a new dialog box / HTML and display only the fields that you want to be mapped from the email. Call this dialog/HTML from the above created button.

    3. Call a workflow from the HTML that creates the lead with the mapped fields, set the regarding field on the email to the newly created lead.
