How to disable updates for Dynamics 365 / NAV integration get unstable

We have a client for whom we have implemented both Dynamics NAV 2016 and Dynamics 365 for Sales. Initially we had an issue CRM connection setup of CU2 of NAV 2016 but we were advised to update to CU23 for the CRM connection to work. The last major update now in the last week has caused a similar problem and this has become very irritating for the client and us for every such update which upsets the entire working setup of a production environment. Right now the integration is down until we test whether CU35 is completely tested by us and then the client just for the CRM connection setup in NAV to start working again.

Is there any way or workaround to disable the updates of Dynamics 365? After all, why force changes on customers who are contented the way their current version works.

    Hi Austin,

For major version updates, such as upgrading from Dynamics 365 version 8.2 to version 9.0, your instance will not be updated unless you approve it. But Service updates do not require approval and are applied automatically to your instance.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/admin/manage-updates.

Since we can not disable the automatic updates by ourselves.

If you want to disable the updates of Dynamics 365, please raise a ticket to Microsoft with your organization url and requirement background.

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards

    Leo

If you are online, you can postpone updates for awhile (30 days at a time) but they will eventually force you to update all the way.   So no there is no way to disable updates, just postpone as usually it asks you to schedule the update.     Whomever it the global administrator should be getting emails about the updates and can postpone.

Recommended to update the sandbox first to ensure nothing breaks.   October updates are due to be available next week so you might want to go in and check on your D365 instance.
