Why does it take so long to run the work sheet?

Because It's doing so much thing on the backround. You have to set filters on specific items or specif times. Please be more specific, how many items you have , how many boms you have
That depends upon how your "Edit - Calculate Plan Worksheet" is configured (are you running MRP & MPS at the same time), how many items are the range, how are the items & stockkeeping units are configured........ There are many things that affect how long the report will run.
