Authentication for On-premises environment

Hi,

I setup on-premises installation of dynamic 365 business central.

and started hello world project for Visual studio code,

when i want to run it requires username and password...

i want to know what is this username and password and where i can find it or configure it,

i have a cloud sandbox username an password and works for cloud server in visual studio code..

    Hi,

    If you want to develop extension then you use your username & password (same as you login into BC). If you want to connect to API/web Services then you have to create Web Resource key on User Setup page and use it as a password (Basic authentication). Just be aware that the the last authentication method is deprecated and will be replaced by OAuth next year.

    Hello,

    On NST you can set authentication type to NavUserPassword, Windows and Azure AD (AccessControlService). There may be a few others to select from, but these are the ones that are relevant.

    If you set NavUserPassword on NST, you can choose UserPassword. If you choose AccessControlService, you can select AAD in VS Code. Idem for Windows.

    This authentication - NAVUserPassword is managed by Business Central Server.

    And to configure it , have a look to this blog -
