Error while making picking list registration in advance warehouse setup

Dear All,

I am using Advance warehousing setup, were we are having Site warehouse, location and pallet as storage dimension group. While doing product receipt I am able to post it by using inbound location, now I want to use the same item in sale order.

In sales order I am getting error that item cannot be picked because 0 only available from inventory. My problem is inventory is lying on inbound location on a pallet. How I can use that inventory for sales, how can I do transfer from Inbound location to outbound location.

Also is there any document available for advance warehouse process for product receipt and packing list process including transfer of inventory from one type of location to other type of location.

In anticipation of reply.... thanks in advance

Abhijeet

    Hi Abhijeet,

I think that the item being in an inbound location does not make it unavailable for picking. From memory, the Shipment reservation combination on the Shipment reservation sequence of the Shipment template will determine if AX can use, for example, inbound locations.

You also have the possibility to configure the received item to be placed into a warehouse location (bulk/picking location), either directly or by pallet transport, and it can be picked from there.

For further reading, I think the blog of the Supply Chain Management team contains some of the best resources:

    Dear Terry,

Thanks for the reply and sharing the link of the process. I am going through the link. I was able to complete my sales order picking list by changing location in sales order. Earlier sales order was having Outbound as location I changed it to Inbound location where my inventory was available. By changing location in sales order I was able to complete full sales process (picking, packing slip and invoice).

I want to know that is this process is correct to change location in sales order just to complete process. Also if possible can you tell me how to configure the received item to be placed into warehouse location directly or by pallet transport.

Once again thanks for your reply

Can I check something first? On the Sales order 'Post Picking list' form there is a 'Line details' tab. On this tab, is AX ticking the 'Consolidated picking method' tick box?
