Numbersequence for Productnumber

Hi 

we use AX2012R2 and have multiple companies. We want to set different numbersequences for prodcut number for different companies.  is tht possible?

    Using standard AX = NO

    using customization, yes this is possible.

    But why you want to do so, when ItemId is already for this purpose which saves local definition of items. Product number is for global definition or product.

    yea i know .. but we use a old set up ( from ax 3.0) and want to have Product and Itemnumber sequenc per company.

    at most  of places/forms/lookups you will see ItemId. you will have very less interaction with ProductId.

    I am not trying to deny your requirement. But I mean, what forced you to think of such a requirement(per legal entity ProductId)

    well most of it is, because our logic and all processe come from time where we had seperate product and itemno. (well we had only itemno, the product did not extist before) changing the processes is very difficult as much is implied. So lets take it as a fact .. even tho i understand the concept and idea behind the product/item, which is a good concept. But sometimes reality is different then theory.. especially when you have to deal with "old" structures and changing them  a tremdous effort.. its not just about defining..
