Using the 30 days trial version, I´m unable to create work orders. Error related to protected entities

Hi there,

I wanted to give dynamics365 field service a try, since any work related to project tracking and field service overview (who is driving where, which customer is overdue etc.) is done on paper.

I´ve applied for a 30 day test version for dynamics 365 field service. After getting the authorization code, I´ve logged in to dynamics.

I tried to create work orders to see if dynamics fits our needs, but everytime I try to do so, I will get an error related to entities. The error text says that a user tried to change a protected field entry.

"User with ID ... does not have Create permissions for the msdyn_totalamount attribute in the msdyn_workorder entity."

Is there anything I´m missing?

Apparently, trial users don't have access to customise the fields.

I dint get any error messages, but the system as it is, is not fit for purpose. I have started the 30 day free trial of MSD365 Sales yesterday. I'm not about spend £32.50pm (and more perhaps) on a system that I can't get working right in the 1st month.  Is there anyway to remove the protected entries, get the customisation tab, and configure it as needed, within the boundaries of the system?  Need to be an administrator to have the permissions.

See here, customising the trial , which I can't do:

This video was good, shows what you're missing:

    Thanks for your links.

Apparently, the problem was that I wasn´t set as admin. I had to promote myself as admin first. A bit irritating since I´m the first user from our company who uses the system :/

I'm now a global administrator, and STILL can't make any changes.

I don't even have the "settings" tab within the CRM trial.

Hi, I once had the same. Dynamics didn't autostart  with the correct app, but with an app specific for Sales or Customer Services.

Try to go to home.dynamics.com and check if that's the case in your situation too, I would advise.

I've big two apps shown, but not sure why?

    1) Dynamics 365 - Custom.

    2) Dynamics 365 - Sales.

Both look identical when I enter them though. Still no settings tab within.

I suggest one more check: you say your account is nog global admin, but does it also has a license of Dynamics 365 attached to it?
