I am facing an issue when trying to import Excel data into the Accounts Receivable (AR) module's customer payment journal lines. Whenever I attempt this import, I encounter the following error:

Error executing code: COM (object), method createFromVariant called with invalid parameters.
Stack trace

The number of arguments provided is different from the number of arguments accepted by the method

This error has been a roadblock in our data import process, and I'm unsure how to resolve it. I'm using Microsoft Dynamics AX r3 and Excel 2016.

I would greatly appreciate any insights, suggestions, or solutions from the community regarding this issue. If anyone has encountered a similar error or knows of potential fixes, please share your expertise.

What code is there at line 134? I don't have AX 2012 anymore (I assume you mean AX 2012 R3) and therefore I can't see that. What CU do you have?

Are you able to debug code and see what values are used at the time of the failure?

I am encountering a persistent issue while attempting to import Excel data into the Accounts Receivable (AR) module's customer payment journal lines in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3. Initially, I was receiving the following error:
Error executing code: COM (object), method createFromVariant called with invalid parameters.
Stack trace
(C)\Classes\COM\createFromVariant
(C)\Classes\SysExcelCells\item - line 3
(C)\Forms\LedgerJournalTransCustPaym\Designs\DesignList\ImportCustPayment\Methods\Clicked - line 134

However, after commenting out the progress bar code and few spaces , the error now occurs on line number 141.

I am using Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3
Cumulative Update 10 6.3.3000.110 24 Nov 2015 (Current cu version 10 is installed)

I would continue the debugging by finding the value of row variable and simplified the test case by removing all unrelated code. When knowing that row and column is it about, I would also check the data in the given cell in Excel.

I agree with Martin.

You may want to verify the COMVariantType and make sure it is a VT_DATE.

I've had this issue many times in the past, because it's difficult to tell what the type is inside the cell. (At least for me.)
