Can somebody please explain the parameter add attachments in system admin and its function for workflow?
What attachments are allowed and how will this work during workflow approvals?

Looking for a way to send the attachments from the source document with the Workflow email to the approver.

Sorry, seems like my screenshot didn't post - I is the parameter in system admin > workflow > workflow parameters > add attachments. I was wondering what functionality will be enabled with this parameter?

What exact parameter form are you referring to? The workflow itself has no documents. The workflow handles a message to get a document approved. The document (like purchase order or invoice) can have attachments.
