Where do I get the Visual Studio 2013 Tools package?

Having installed AX 2012 R3 (RTM) on a development machine and selected the Visual Studio Tools option, I found that nothing seems to have been installed in VS2013, apparently because the RTM tools are for VS2010!

So I downloaded CU10 and tried to select the Visual Studio 2013 Tools upgrade, but it won't do this because it says they aren't installed!

From trying to download CU10, it seems I could have downloaded CU9 (but nothing earlier). Will this install the tools for Visual Studio 2013?

If not, where do I get them from?

Thanks.

    Hi Darek

Through the  below link you can find the answer.

Firstly, you have to uninstalled Visual Studio Tools for 2010, Install VS 2013 and finally install Visual Studio 2013 Dev Tools

As far as I know, you can't upgrade Visual Studio tools. Uninstall the old version (possibly with the whole Visual Studio 2010) and install the new version.

I did install cu8 first, during the upgrade, I got option for Visual studio 2013. Later I upgrade it to CU9.

I already have VS2013 installed. Do I have to uninstall that too or is uninstalling the Visual Studio Tools (2010) enough?

Obviously, reinstalling VS2013 with the current set extensions I currently have set up would be painful and I'd prefer not to have to remove it.

I guess you can try to uninstall VS 2010 tools and install VS 2013 tools

It seems that it isn't necessary to uninstall VS2013 if it's already there. Simply use AX Setup to uninstall Visual Studio Dev Tools (for 2010) and then use the update installer to install Visual Studio 2103 Dev Tools.

There is no reason to reinstall VS 2013, nevertheless Microsoft recommends uninstalling VS 2010 (which isn't needed anymore).
