Deleting Commitments manually from CostControlCommitedCost Table

Posted on by 285

Hi All,

I have a scenario, where my project stage is finished but still it has open commitments showing for the project.

Please refer my below screen, which list the open commitments for the finished projects.

commitments1.JPG

They are very old purchase order, they PO line status received cannot be invoiced now. Invoiced status PO Lines are already finalized but the commitments are not cleared.

Therefore i am planning to delete the commitments directly from the CostControlCommitedCost Table. Deleting directly from costControlcommitedCost Table will leads to any impact in future?

can anyone please give your suggestion about this. Thanks in Advance.

Thanks,

Banu.

    Hello Banu,

You mentioned that the PO's are received but cannot be invoiced now.

If you have not received the invoice I would not delete those committed costs, as this might cause subsequent errors.

If you are pretty sure that you won't receive an invoice from your vendors, I would rather generate a $0 invoice and let Dynamics reverse the committed costs through the standard process.

That is better than deleting some records.

If the committed costs are still not dissolved after invoicing, you can think about deleting those records.

Do this deletion in a test system first before you doing this in live.

Also have a look at LCS because there are a couple of hotfixes available that deal with non reversed committed costs in older AX2012 versions.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
