Excel Export Error

We are using Dynamics AX 2009 Client.  We are getting the following error when
doing Excel Export. We have reinstalled Excel in the computer. But no luck

Error Message: Method 'pasteSpecial' in COM object class '_Worksheet' returned error code 0x800A03EC (<unknown>) which means : PasteSpecial method of  WorkSheet class failed.

We do not get the error everytime 1 in 4 times it will work.


 I would appreciate if someone help me in this?

    If nobody answered, try to provide more information. Like whether it happens on all machines or just one, any related messages in event log, what version of Excel do you use and so on.

    It happens on 4 different computers. We just started to update our excel from 2007 to 2010. On all of the ones that we updated to 2010 it happens on.

    A few suggestions:

    Try opening Excel before you do the export.  If you are using terminal servers it needs to be open there instead of on your local machine.  

    Do you have filter by grid on by default when you open up the form you are trying to export the grid to?  If so, turn that off and save, reopen and try.

    There also might be a hotfix for this as well, I will check on that.

    i have seen simular thing in ax 2012,

    there is some place in the AX code, where it siply should wait a little bit more longer, before going to the next line of x++ code. try to debug and locate the x++ line and add a sleep (1000) before it. it could do the job.

    Many excel add-ins break the export function. Try disabling those.

    Another problem we've seen is 64 bit excel & 32 bit AX - we've re-installed excel 32 bit w/ success.

    also a commen issue?

    the user is a first time excel user on that server.

    so you get the pop ups about profile,

    also a not installed license on excel gives strange behavior.

    We do not have filter by grid on by default, I opened excel first it seemed to make the error less, but we still did get the error. All excel add-ins have been disabled. We are running a 32 bit excel with a 32 bit AX. The only thing that we have not tried it to edit the AX code, that is not something I have ever done and would not know where to start. Should I really have to edit code for a built in feature?
