I'm curious if there is a way to limit/cap the number of contacts that can enter a journey per day until the segment is exhausted?

For example, I have a segment of 200k contacts. Can I cap the number of contacts who can enter this journey at, say 10k, until all contacts are added?

Or is the option to break up my segment into smaller lists and manually add each list when I want the contacts to start the journey?

There actually is! About a month ago, "Rate Limit" was announced. It will be generally available in December 2024.

This feature allows you to spread out the number of customers who enter your journey over time:

Set rate limits per day or per hour.

Choose which days of the week customers can enter the journey.

Rate limits only apply to segment-based journeys, not trigger-based journeys.
