Stuck Inventory

Hello,
We use lot tracking for our inventory.  We currently have 1 case of an item left in inventory (which doesn't physically exist), so we want to adjust it out of the system.
The correct Item/Lot# exists in Bin Contents.  When we attempt to adjust it out of the system, the Lot # doesn't exist in Item Tracking Lines.  Since we can't select the Lot # in Item tracking, we can't post the transaction.
However, item tracking does say there is 1 CS of a different lot # available (which also doesn't exist).
Is there any way I can force an item journal entry through to remove the 1 CS of 1 lot out, and also deplete the item tracking of another lot #.

    Hi Brian, does the lot show a remaining quantity in the item ledger entries?  We have had scenarios where the bin contents and item ledger entries do not match, and that would cause a problem like you are experiencing.

    I am trying to bring an inventory item to zero thru the On Hand List using Quantity Adjustment (counting).
     
    I get this error
     
    Physical on hand ) cannot be picked because only -79 is/are available from the inventory for Item 2916 and dimensions: Site 110, Warehouse 12 Location returns Inventory usable, Batch number 25-012U
     
    How can I eliminate this inventory that no longer exists?

    Does your Lot Tracking code have Lot Specific Tracking turned on?  If not, the Lots are consumed in a FIFO manner, regardless of the Lot you assign to a transaction.  This can cause a mismatch in what you think you have and what the system shows.
     
    To solve your current situation, do the Negative Adjustment to whatever Lot is in your Item Ledger to zero your inventory (or make it match your physical inventory).
     
    Assuming Lot Specific is off, I would recommend you work through the process of moving to Lot Specific Tracking when using Lot Numbers.  This can take some effort as you cannot change the Item Tracking code once Item Ledgers exist.  I would encourage you to reach out to your BC partner to assist.

    Have you ever tried taking inventory in the Physical Inventory Journals and then adjusting the inventory?
