blank lines also coming in report

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi,

In a Purchase Details report , blank lines are also coming in navision 2016 though it is not coming in Navision 2009.  The blank lines in PO means some Po's has header but it doesn't had any details  in lines except its document no. In navision 2009 version  , blank PO lines is not dispalying for this PO report. When it is done it 2016 navision version, report is displaying this lines too.

Same logic is applied in both.Po header and Po lines are linked with each other with  Document No.

I write code in order to skip that blank lines but then also this line is coming.  I write code in many ways by using codes such as ' if (PurchaseLine. no = '') then Current report. showoutput( false);'  or by filtering these lines  but nothing became a success.

Plz help me.

My knowledge in 2016 report creation is very limited as i am a beginner  in this version.

Upto this time i am working in Navision 2009 version.

Plz help.PLz..

IF might need to use visibility property to skip these blank lines.

Check standard reports like Sales Invoice,Purchase order etc.

May be this will help you (though it is for NAV2009 RTC)

    Hi

    You can try the below.

1, PrintOnlyIfDetail - Set to Yes for the Purchase Header DataItem , if you want to skip header also if there are no lines.

2, Open the RDLC and set visibility expression like IIF(Fields!PurchaseLine. no = "",TRUE,FALSE).

Moving back you can even apply the filter on DataItem as well.

    In Development Environment:

Object Designer -> Reports -> Select your Report -> Design

Here is the list of DataItems getting used for this Report.

Here on Purchase Line DataItem, you can write:

    WHERE(Line No.=FILTER(<>0))

    in DataItemTableView property.

So that it will not at all consider the lines without Line No.

I actually like Yogesh idea the most, as it is better to just exclude the data that you do not plan to operate with on the report.

However, it is a good skill anyway to be able to sort out empty lines in the report. This might be perhaps helpful: https://community.dynamics.com/nav/f/34/t/142657
