Unable to edit project stage names

When I enter a custom name in the Project stage field and click Save, it is not being saved. When I return to the parameters, all fields are blank.
 
How do I solve this? 
 
According to Microsoft, this should be the correct way to do it

    Hi,
    Can you check your user permissions, or if the field is read-only? You can switch to a system administrator user and try again. 
    Maybe you can try to rename or modify a project stage and uses the USSI data set.

    Hi Gaute,
    Project stage field is text based and open for modification, please try to remove your personalization and user data to check if it helps.
    Have you tried to change the language then try again?
    If you still get the same result, please check with your team if they have create customization on this form.

    I am able to enter the name for Project stage field and save it.
    Can you check whether you have any customization involved?
