Material Requisition for Internal Consumption

Hi,

Is there a functionality available in Dynamics AX 2012 R3 for requesting items by a particular department from the warehouse for internal consumption purpose. For example, If finance department needs 10 A4 sheet bundles, can a staff in finance department request those through AX?

    Hi Ruwan,

    No we dont have any OOB material requisition screen in AX 2012.  I can suggest you a work around solution as follows:

    1. Use Purchase requisition for internal department request for any item, once requisition is approved from all approvers (Obviosuly you will set department wise hierarchy)

    2. Do a small customization, Create a button on requisition line level, that will open "item movement journal" screen.  

    3. Inventory guy will click on that button and will create inventory movement journal to issue an item,  he must select respective department from financial dimension section to book the cost to that department.

    4. Post Inventory movement journal.  

    5. For better tracking, you can have custom column on requisition line level where you can populate "item movement journal" number once jouranl is posted.

    Note:  Please create a high level document to visualize the process for your understanding and present to business user before you start the development.
