I have a question regarding certain roles seeing certain modules. For example, let's say I want my accountant role only to see "General Ledger", and not "Accounts Payable", "Accounts Receivable", "Budgeting", "Fixed Assets", "Cash and Bank Management", "Travel and Expense", and "Human Resources". How can I remove the privilege to see the other modules? Is there a way to see what role content corresponds with what module?
Thanks!

Hi,
Have a look at my blog. Perhaps this will already help you removing the Foreign Currency Revaluation. I think this menu item is not used in other menus.
The example in this blog mentions another menu item but read the full context to be aware of the complexity of the security architecture.

Thanks for the replies. I will look into that tool and see if the menu items do not overlap, though they probably will. As far as just taking an item off of a specific module - for example, if I wanted to take Foreign Currency Revaluation off of General Ledger - how would I do that? Thanks!
Hi,
The security development tool will provide some more insight, but your question is not directly answered with this tool.
With a view based on the menu you can see and change access, but it is not directly visible if on menu item is present in multiple menus.
If you have an AR collection agent, he needs access on the Customer list page and details. The same menu items are used in the AR menu as well as the Sales and Marketing. If you then want to restrict Sales and Marketing menu... this is NOT possible.
Have you tried the suggestion to 'hide' the not needed menus per user?
Hi
You can use the Security Development Tool.
Take a look at technet.microsoft.com/.../hh859728.aspx
The Security Development Tool is available from the InformationSource, informationsource.dynamics.com
Thanks for the replies. Is there a way to see which privileges or duties correspond with each module?
Hi,
This is almost impossible as some menu items exists in multiple menus. Removing a privilege or duty will cause the options disappear also in a certain menu.
As a user you can disable these menus yourself
Modules just group menu items. A module is hidden if the user doesn't have access to any menu item in the module.
