I have a strange issue, that I've been trying to google/search for a few days, and tried many different solutions.
PROBLEM: Microsoft Dynamics NAV, printing larger fonts on single client workstation after VPN from new PC.
DETAILS: I have a client workstation that works remotely from time to time, user used a new PC to VPN/RDP to workstation, and ever since this happened, any printed report/check/etc... printed from NAV only, prints with larger font, causing some data to be pushed off the right and bottom of page. It doesn't matter if the user is printing locally, to a network printer, or through the VPN. All computers used by client, including personal computer AND the workstation are Windows 10 Professional. VPN is through Shrewsoft, and RDP is through Windows RDP.
ATTEMPTED: I've reinstalled the local printer (did not resolve), printing any report using the print dialog, i.e., printing to Adobe PDF, printing to Microsoft XPS files, or printing to any network printer, even documents captured and sent to ZetaDocs, all have the same issue, thus we decided it was not the local printer, and a NAV wide printing issue.
ATTEMPTED: I found an old article on NAV 2009, about VPN users using a RDP session in a non- 4:3 ratio, causing this similar issue, so we tried changing the resolution of the workstation to a 4:3 ratio, which did not solve anything either.
WORKAROUND: This workaround only works on certain reports, but when a report has the option to "Print" or "Preview" if the Print directly to PDF is available (without using the print popup dialog box), simply clicking the arrow next to Print and hitting PDF, this particular PDF will be the right size, then we can re-print it from Adobe PDF reader, and it works fine. But this doesn't solve the "Post and Print" documents that print without asking format, or letting you pick. Or our Invoices/Statements which get sent to ZetaDocs to email to customers.
SOLUTION REQUIRED: Normal printing size on prints from NAV through Windows Print Dialog.
About a week ago, everything worked fine, the only thing changed is the new home user PC, and/or possibly some Windows 10 updates on the workstation, but no other workstations are affected.
