Planned transfer orders - reservations

Hello guys, I need some help.
Here is the case:
We have a PO containing an item - 500 qty ordered (warehouse X). 10 days later a planned transfer order is generated and firmed - 300 qty, the same item, from warehouse X to warehouse Y. We have these 300 pieces in warehouse X. But AX does the following:
1) Reservation for 226 from warehouse X
2) Another reservation (marked) for the other 74 from that very PO - the items are not available in the warehouse, the transaction in the PO has status Ordered.
There are not min/max values or any other reservations for the 74 pieces left in warehouse X.
Why is this happening?
(This has happened a couple of times before, different items, warehouses, etc.)
Thanks in advance.

When you firm, are you firming with Standard or Extended marking. Remember that the system remembers the setup on your Firming form - so you have to check each users setup - not just check the master planning parameter

Yes. I know about the setup and it is Standard. It's ok that way, but my question was more like:

Why not take all the available items in the warehouse and send them, but mark this amount (74) from that PO?

It doesn't make any sense to me. And what's more it is a problem, we cannot keep track on every transfer and check every line so carefully.

Sorry Elena, I don't agree with: "it is Standard. It's ok that way".

Try firming your planned transfer orders with Marking = None. Then I think you will get the more logical behaviour that you expect.

Do you have the Inventory parameter 'Reserve ordered items' ticked?

Also have a look at the net requirements in that warehouse, AX thinks you are 7 short, so something else is taking the stock or it is expired etc.

Yes, the 'Reserve ordered items' parameter is ticked. And most of the users who actually deal with transfer orders has the Standard setup. But ordinary when they firm a planned transfer and there are enough items in the warehouse X, AX reserves the physical available quantity. In case that it is enough to cover minimum quantity for the warehouse, ordered quantity for the transfer order and any other reservations.

Try turning 'Reserved ordered items' off.
