Hello All
Been kicking this about for a while and still not scored a goal. Therefore i found this forum and thought I would kick it around here and see if we get a goal.
The scenario is this:
We are a bespoke manufacturer, therefore every customer's order generates one or many new Items unique to that order. No order is ever the same as another. These item are automatically generated through a configurator. These bespoke items are manufactured and put into our warehouse/packing department. We can manufacture one or multiple quantities of the same bespoke item. These bespoke items are then placed within box and that box given a number. A quantity of a bespoke item could be in one or many boxes delivered over one or many consignments/dispatches. Each box could have one or multiple bespoke items in it. Also bespoke items in boxes can sometimes be taken out of boxes and placed into other boxes or removed all together. A consignment can take one or many days to fulfill. Bespoke items do not all arrive in the warehouse at the same time(hand to mouth).
What I'm looking to achieve is a method of creating a planned warehouse shipment/dispatch. Then when it is going out of the door I can post it and print off a consignment manifest of which items are in which boxes. When posting a shipment it needs to do the appropriate journal entries etc.
Hope someone can give me a couple of pointers.
Cheers
Glyn

That is what exactly what i was about to propose to add the box no. field on the shipment page and enter those values as they pack the items or create a sub table to store boxes for each line. The sub table includes Warehouse Shipment No, Warehouse Shipment Line No, Line No. Item No. Quantity and Box No. (Or any other relevant fields) so that they can enter multiple boxes for each line and that table can be modify it and then you need to modify your shipment report to include this table and display the box no.
Hello Suresh
thanks for the response.
Not in a live environment, we do our manifest manually and it gets shipped when invoiced. No we are not using any shipping module just standard Nav.
one way I tried to get this to work is through standard warehouse shipment with added fields of box number and consignment number. It would then be posted.
The problem occurs when packing decide to take bespoke items out of their current box and put them in another.
reason why they may take items out of box and put into another are:
Customer request
Courier weight restriction
Fault found in bespoke items

Are you storing the box no. now in Navision if so how are you storing that value ? are you using any shipping module to pack/pick or standard NAV to post the shipment ?
