Anything I can do to automate posting in Great Plains?? (GP18.5) I have a client with some large posting files and they'd like to schedule them to run afterhours.

Please advise. Thank you.

What module's batches are these ?

I have previously done some custom coding for automatic posting but it's not very straight forward.

Also there are some posting tools as well but definitely you need to find their vendors and what support they will provide.

Thank you Almas, I actually found a couple of third party solutions (Alba Spectrum and Envisage) that may work and have reached out to each. I was also wondering if a Power Automate or Power Platform solution may work. Just a thought.

I don't think so that power automate can be used for posting. Yeah you can use it for task where you only need to access Dynamics GP database and can do stuff like at the end of day transferring transactions from one batch to another by calling custom stored procedure (using gateway connection). Or reading date from some other server/staging database and by using eConnect create some documents in GP. Or fetching data from GP tables and export into Excel or save in some sharepoint document or used for Power BI etc.

The Envisage one is nice because they also have a version that runs as a Windows service -- you don't have to keep GP open on a machine somewhere.

I've used SmartPost from eOne for years and years and it is a solid product. Don't cost that much either.

I was looking at Envisage and had totally forgot about SmartPost. This is already a SmartConnect shop so SmartPost may be a no brainer.

Hi Jose

Please note that Post Master from Envisage Software has the following features

Post Master runs as a Windows Service

This means that the GP client does not need to be running, a user does not need to be logged into Windows or logged into GP.

Post Master does not consume a GP user seat went it is running.

Post Master can automatically restart itself after a Server reboot.

Post Master can automatically restart itself if a GP fault occurs.

Post Master can post multiple batches in parallel, reducing the overall time needed to post large numbers of batches.
