Overtime Calculation - Help!

I'm trying to find information on how or if AX calculates overtime.  From what I am seeing, I can't find anything stating the functionality out of the box.

Can someone point me in the right direction?  We will be using time and attendance via EP.  How does AX calculate overtime?

Thanks.

    RE: Overtime Calculation - Help!

    Hi Pablo,

I'm not sure you understand my question.  So let me try to explain another way.  For FLSA purposes, any hours worked over 40 in a 7 day period are considered overtime and paid at 1.5 times the regular rate.  Example, John Doe enters his time in EP/Employee Services/Timesheet.  He worked 8 hours per day everyday (7 days) for that pay period.  This equals 56 total hours worked for the week.  When the 56 hours comes over from EP the overtime will not be calculated, as far as I know.   When these hours are uploaded to Payroll, the employee should be paid 40 regular hours and 16 overtime hours.

    1.  Does AX calculate the overtime hours in R3?

    2.   If so, can you please send me detailed information on how to set this up?

Can you send me your Skype information?  Mine is rcoker@itksolutionsgroup.com.

Thank you!  I really appreciate your help.

You are going to see the calculation of the OT in the earning statement after you started the process of the payroll run.  Also you can modify the earnings in that window.  Payroll>Earning statements>Earning statement.

Hi Pablo!  That helps.  When does this calculation actually happen and how?  My client will be using Time and Attendance with Projects.  We will be writing a MOD to move the time from projects to payroll.  The OT needs to be reflected in projects.

    Hi Rebecca,

AX calculates overtime depending on the parameters configured in the earning codes. Go to Payroll>Setup>Parameters>Earning codes.  Select the earning code of overtime that you are using and in the General tab verify the grid Amount or multiplier.  You can put the amount of 1.5 or 2, depending how it is paid.  Hope this works.

    Regards,

    Pablo
