I am getting this error on loading Schedule board, I know the root cause that the Action is in draft state but when I go to that Action and try to activate it, its not allowing me to do so because of permission issues.

I have sys admin and FS admin role in the instance, not sure what's wrong here.

This is the error log:

Unhandled exception:
Exception type: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault]
Message: System.Web.HttpUnhandledException (0x80004005): Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown. ---> Microsoft.Crm.CrmException: Principal user (Id=04b0f3fb-dbdd-e811-a981-000d3a18c047, type=8, roleCount=1, privilegeCount=5, accessMode=0, is missing prvCreateWorkflow privilege (Id=356f7a5a-5f9b-4a55-8398-b5732f6a08e5

    Who is the owner of that action? Try changing to yourself and activate again?

    I actually did that and was able to activate the Action and load the Schedule board, the owner is actually the global admin who provisioned the instance for us , installed Fs and manages Users. Is there any permission he has to grant me to be able to do this without assigning the action to me? Also I see a lot more processes in draft state, is this usual when we install FS solution?

    Hello,

    First be sure that the action "msdyn_FpsAction" is activated. It seems the user doesn't have privilege on an item. try to associate to yourself, the privilege "Execute Workflow Job" under "customization" tab and try to re-open schedule board. Actually the log says the Id of the item that you don't have privilege on it. You may try to find that item by searching the id.

    Regards,

    Shayan

    Hi Shayan,

    Action is activated now by assigning it to myself first but my question is isnt being a Sys admin in CRM enough to activate any process or any permission / role has to be given at office 365 level also?

    These are the roles that you can manage in office 365 (i.e. Global Admin)

    docs.microsoft.com/.../about-admin-roles;view=o365-worldwide

    Other permissions/privileges/roles for records, entities, dashbaords, processes etc. should be managed inside the Dynamics.

    Regards,

    Shayan

    The user that owns the workflow should have the system admin role in dyanmics 365
