When trying to fix my Help URL on a working IFD of Dynamics CRM 2011 UR11, I get the following error in an elevated PowerShell session:

Get-CrmSetting : The caller was not authenticated by the service.

I am logged in as a Domain and Enterprise Admin.  Any idea as to why I can't run a simple Get?

Please advise,

Benjamin Rutledge

    Hello,
I ran into the same issue when I tried to get a CRM Claims setting (Get-CrmSetting -SettingType ClaimsSettings)

I found a KB article from microsoft which helped me to resolve the issue:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/896861

I have used method 2 with the DisableLoopbackCheck registry key on the CRM application server

    regards,

    Moritz

After finally finding and reading a number of other entries on the subject, I found that the purpose of the two posts referenced earlier was to set the HelpServerUrl in the configsettings table of the MSCRM_CONFIG database to a blank string.  They took two different paths to doing so, the first through SQL and the second through PowerShell.  By focusing on the SQL solution, I was able to resolve my issue, though it looked like it failed initially.  I'd still like to know what's wrong with my PowerShell, but for now, I'm all good to go--Help is working again on my IFD.

I can't be the only one with this problem.  Someone please advise.

I've found and tried to follow these two posts, but had issues with each:

community.dynamics.com/.../crm-2011-help-menu-unavailable-when-you-configure-ifd.aspx (is this a SQL query they suggest I run?)

www.zero2ten.com/.../microsoft-dynamics-crm-2011-help-doesnt-work-after-internet-facing-deployment (this is where I had the PowerShell issues mentioned above)
