Hi Stefano,
I have installed all components NAV, SQL database in my DB Server and Client in my laptop. I checked the configuration, I gave the permission to domain user in SQL server, now I will setup users to use NAV.
In order to be able to use your domani user for the SQL Server service, you need to grant permission to execute as a service to your user account in Active Directory. For this:
1.Logon to the computer with administrative privileges.
2.Open the ‘Administrative Tools’ and open the ‘Local Security Policy’
3.Expand ‘Local Policy’ and click on ‘User Rights Assignment’
4.In the right pane, right-click ‘Log on as a service’ and select properties.
5.Click on the ‘Add User or Group…’ button to add the new user.
6.In the ‘Select Users or Groups’ dialogue, find the user you wish to enter and click ‘OK’
7.Click ‘OK’ in the ‘Log on as a service Properties’ to save changes.
Then you need to set the user with the permissions to access your SQL Server database.
Hi Stefano,
Thanks for your answer, I am trying setup the Dynamics NAV 2018 in production environment (Virtual Machines), the servers are new, therefore, I can install and reinstall if is necessary.
I have two virtual servers 1 to NAV and 1 to SQL Server 2016 SE, I have installed NAV 2018 in my app server, but I want my NAV working with my Database Server no with his local database. I am reading the docs of Microsoft and I made many configurations but it not working yet. Along with that I tried to run the Dynamics NAV with user domain, I have created a service user to NAV and Instance of databases and I gave to that user all grants mentioned in instructions to start NAV service and to work with database instance but I had to use the network service again because the NAV service do not start with the domain user.
I know I am learner, probably I miss some instruction and maybe I should install all again.
I will check your URLs and I will let you know how is it going.
Thank you.
Can you explain your problem in details please? Are you installing in a production environment?
