You are upgrading AX but have no working knowledge of the AOT?

You can use the Model elements form to focus in on anything written at a particular layer, such as CUS or CUP.

Also, you can use Compare layers to compare CUS to the next highest used layer like ISV or SYP/SYS to generate a project with all differences between the two layers.

With any luck, whoever did modifications created shared projects to group all related objects together.  Look through the Shared projects or Private projects to see if any exists on the appropriate layer (CUS?).

One option is to upload your model files to Lifefycle Services customization analysis tool: docs.microsoft.com/.../customization-analysis-lcs

This will give you some information about the nr of customized objects, new objects etc.

What is the purpose of this "system audit"? There can be many things that someone might want to audit, for example AX setup, infrastructure setup, performance etc. First you need to determine what you really want to get.

I already gave you one solution - counting objects in your version control system. If you need more help, you must tell us which version control system you're using.

Alternatively you could count objects in your custom models.

How you can count customizations depends on how you define a customization. For instance, you can count objects in your version control system.
