workflow to update only the most recent opportunity

Hi,

I am investigating creating a workflow to automatically update a field on the most recent opportunity based on a field value in the Contact.

The problem I have is that a lot of our Contacts would have multiple open opportunities. How can I create a workflow that will only update the most recent opportunity?

Thanks

Ted

    Hello Ted,

The issue with workflow - you can't do it easilly.

You will have to either create a custom logic - either plugin or custom workflow activity or use Power Automate - that could be performed in a no-code manner.

    Hi,

Use list rows action in power automate to fetch recent updated opportunity.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../list-rows

You can order by modified on and pick first record.

    Hi,

Create a Custom Action and call that custom Action from Microsoft flow or

Create a Console Application that calls CRM System --> use Fetchxml or Queryexpression to take only last modified record(modified on desecending) for each contact's Opportunity and perform your operation
