hi,

im new for AX, i have a doubt in display method. that is,

is there any way to use search functionality (ctrl + G) in fields whose field is displayed data through display method.

Displaymethod using the specific fields for calculation like that but not using the search functionality

Hi Bala..

As General, use "*" Front and back of your text you need to find. Use * back of first few characters of your text for sequence.. Use ".." for date and similar strings.

You cannot search on display methods. In AX 2012 they used a lot of views on forms. These views contain the datasources linked and fields are included from multiple tables. This could also replace some display methods. Then you are able to search on related fields.

By standard we don't have option for search on display method

If you need to perform some customization for this purpose

you need to override the context() method on the display method control on the form

create context menu for search

Call 'SysformSearch' form

get the entered text for search

and then create a query object

then assign the above query object to form datasource

execute the datasource executequery() method

Please verify and update us if you need more details

HI Boobalan,

We are not able to search directly in display method but we can make Adding Find\Filter functionality on Display method.
