How can we hide the a folder of Report definitions from users? Can we use their permission to establish the restriction?
in my opinion, its not possible to hide folder but we can try giving permissions to specific report. Lets see what others say
Hello Lilliam19,
I would say that users should not go to the report designer but rather only run the reports from within the D365FO client.
You should have a team of experts that builds and designs the reports for your users in the report designer.
End users can then consume and run the reports in F&O without having to open the designer themselves.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Ludwig, thanks for your response. I thought of the same however, the requirement is that there are designers in a Legal Entity(ies) that should not see the designed reports for other legal entities. In this case, Finance staff are divided by geographical areas and should only see their respective Region reports. Folders have been set up to represent each region with the intend, for example, that a North America user would only see his/her NA folder and not Asia or Latin America, etc. Everyone is operating in the same ERP platform.
Let me know what your thoughts are.

Thank you Saurabh. I'm thinking the same as I haven't found a way. Quick question how do you access the Report Library and does the concept exist when using D365 F&O. I've seen it for GP but I'm not sure if that still exist for D365.
