Assigning an AX ledger account (Accounts Receivable) to a CUSTTRANS transaction.

Hello,

I am a Business Intelligence developer and am new to Dynamics AX.

Using the CUSTTRANS and CUSTSETTLEMENT tables, I have created an Historical Aging Report within our BI software and would like to join the ledger account to which the each transaction was coded. Might anyone know how to achieve this?

    Hi AXgrant,

There is no main account in cust trans table, you have only Voucher field there, using Voucher and Date you can find GeneralJournalEntry and GeneralJournalAccountEntry where you can see ledger account.

However, you won't get 1 line in GeneralJournalAccountEntry  for 1 line in CUSTTRANS, because CUSTTRANS  could be split into GST, Currency Exchange and other part in general ledger, each of  GeneralJournalAccountEntry   could have it's own account.

To get better understanding of general ledger framework in AX please read this white paper download.microsoft.com/.../Updating%20the%20Uses%20of%20the%20Ledger%20Posting%20Framework%20for%20Microsoft%20Dynamics%20AX%202012.pdf

    Hi AXgrant,

Ievgen is correct about the fact the legder account is not stored in the custtrans or settlement table. However he might have missed the AX2009 version tag. In that version the ledger account is located in the LedgerTrans table. Also here there are more records with several ledger accounts per voucher. Each record in this table has a transaction type which will indicate if it is e.g. a customer balance. So you.can also search on the transaction type.

For AX2009 you can also ignore the link about the GL framework.
