Hi,
I read that D365B's Team Member is capable of handling "Requisitions and quotes", but which specific pages does "Requisitions and quotes" cover?
Try downloading the License guide from the link on this site maybe?
https://dynamics.microsoft.com/en-us/finance/overview/
I don't support that product though so my knowledge is limited. They do have their own support forums as well - https://community.dynamics.com/365/financeandoperations/f/dynamics-365-for-finance-and-operations-forum
Hey Chris, thanks for all of your input in this thread.
I don't suppose you can point me to a resource that shows which privileges/menu items map to which license type (full/team/activity)?
(For D365 FinOps Enterprise)?
Many thanks,
Andrew
Hi there Theo,
I have personally escalated this in June 2018 using a Support Incident and Microsoft did confirm that they were going to include this in Update 16 which as far as I understand should have been in Aug 2018. Unfrotunately I think this is still missing but it's in the Roadmap as it was accepted as a feature miss by the Product Group.
Hope this helps and that soon we can make use of this under Team Members.
Cheers
Andy
Chris,
I was assuming that "Create, edit, delete a quote or requisition" would include a Purchase Quote and Pur.Req. Worksheet.
But a Team Member user does not have those permissions.
Is that something that's still on the roadmap to be included for a Team member?
Thanks, Theo
Hello,
The roadmap is the only place that outlines what is coming.
They blog about every update as well with the new features.
Thanks,
Chris
Hi Chris
On my original post you linked to the Oct 2016 License Guide
Agreed that there is no functionality for Purchase Quote but that is not clear in the license guide or available anywhere to see what is included & what isn't (functionality wise) eg you cant do Blanket Order & prepayments has just appeared
If the License Guide says you can do Purchase quotes in Business edition it should be there
The Team member license is no where equivalent to the Limited user in NAV & that is how it is portrayed - its like going back to the old days & the Office user license !!
Is there anywhere that we can see details of what is coming & what is in the release / updates that are being applied
As a Partner we are working blind (as are the EMEA Support teams) trying to support customer in a Live environment & bugs are appearing weekly in the update
The one I linked is dated July 2017.... I thought that was the one you said you wanted?
What I'm saying is that nobody can create a 'Purchase Quote' in Financials Business Edition. It's not functionality that is restricted by license type, it's functionality that does not exist in the product at all.
So yes, once 'Purchase Quote' is a feature that actually exists in the product, Team Members will be able to make use of that functionality. At present, Team Members are able to make use of all of the functionality stated on the guide that is available in the product.
Thanks,
Chris
thanks Chris for your response - I wonder why you sent me the link to old out of date one ?
I also have to politely disagree with you - Microsoft have acknowledged that in the Finance - Business edition the Team Member SHOULD be able to create a quote
(as per July 2017 guide) and so any license bought after this date should work & they don't !
Here is the link for the updated license guide you reference.
mbs.microsoft.com/.../Dynamics_365_Business_edition_Licensing_Guide.pdf
The Team Member license is working as expected against Financials (Business Edition) currently. I understand that the wordage on the Licensing Guide can be confusing as it was meant to describe Team Member functionality across multiple products (existing and upcoming).
Neither a Fully licensed user or a Team Member user can enter a 'Purchase Quote' currently as it's not a feature that is included in the product. Entering a 'Purchase Quote' is a feature request that has been accepted and will be added in a future update as you noted.
Thanks,
Chris
Hello
I have now made some progress on this
Microsoft have acknowledged that the Team member SHOULD be able to CREATE a Purchase Quote
Apparently it will be in release 15 (currently Rel 9) no idea on timescales
There is also a License Guide dated July 2017 - no idea where this is or whether it has been released - not the one in the link from Chris - that is one we used & only one we can find easily
This guide has clarified that the Team member can create Purchase & sales Quotes but not Orders
Bit of an issue with Team Members now & no date on release of fix - so Customers paying for users they cant use !!
