Personalised added field not exposed to Data entities

Hello experts,

In the SO Lines view, I have added an extra field (CURRENCY - the same from Header view), using the standard procedure - right click > personalize > add field (NOTE! The fields already existed in the list, I did not create anything manually). Went to Data management > Data entities > Selected SalesOrderLineV2Entity > Modify mapping > Generate mapping.

Did an export of the above mentioned entity and the CURRENCY field appeared.

I tried to add the SHIP DATE field, following the same steps, but the field doesn't seem to update in the data entity. I tried two other fields, one with type "TEXT", the other with "DATE" and followed the same steps.

They only appeared at a form level, not entity level.

Is there a problem with Generate mapping? Am I missing a step?

Thank you!

    Hi D73,

    Did you follow the DOC:

    Hi Will,

Thank you for the prompt response!

Yes, I did. Nothing appears in the Custom fields form for me to select, UNLESS it is a manually created new field. I did this test already.

If you add some standard fields to your form grid via personalization, that has nothing to do with custom fields & data entities and you can't add them to a data entity.

However, Currency field is already available in SalesOrderLineV2Entity, as well as shipping related dates (RequestedShippingDate and ConfirmedShippingDate) so nothing needs to be changed to have them. If you don't see them, just regenerate mapping.

    Hi Nikolaos,

Thank you for clearing that up. The thing is, I am looking to also add the Ship date that is found in the packing slip journal, not the Requested/Confirmed ShippingDates.

Is this possible through data entities?

You can have 100 packing slips for one Sales line, so obviously that date can't be shown in the Sales line entity.

To me it seems that there is no standard D365 entity for the packing slips. There is "Packing slip tracking information" but I guess you need to enable some tracking to have data in it.

You can always develop your own entity to get the packing slip info out of the system.

Thanks again! I am not a developer, so I do not have the access (or the knowledge) to build a data entity from scratch.

Was looking for a user accessible solution, but I don't think there is one, for this specific field.
