Dataverse - Virtual Table to Native Table Relationship (F&O/CE)

Posted on by 1,795

Hi,

There is Microsoft documentation on this topic: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/power-platform/entity-modeling#virtual-tabletonative-table-relationship

The documentation uses the example of where in Dataverse you may want to see a list of customer specific F&O Sales Order against a Dataverse Account record.

The documentation stops short of what the implementation is on the Dataverse side to display the list of Sales Orders, once the X++ extension has been developed in F&O.

Will this add a relationship into the relationships area in Dataverse and as a result you can add a subgrid to the Account form? Or is it something custom that requires development?

I am struggling with the same area. Did you make any progress?

I can use OOB relationship handling in Model driven apps for VE(1):DV(*) without X++

For VE(*):DV(1) Microsoft are suggesting that X++ is required.

The documentation can be interpreted both ways.

    Cheers, Richard UK
