    Hi Sanjay,

First of all a full compile will probably be a good idea. Also are you doing your CIL on the same machine every time. You might want to consider using a different machine.

The CIL compile will only run on the machine it is started from. After the CIL make sure all AOS services get restarted to make sure the CIL pushed to the other AOS servers.

    Kind Regards,

    Koen

This isn't normal though I've seen if a few times before.   There are a long list of things to check, but let me give you a few:

    1. If you temporarily disable the load balancer and only leave one AOS up, do you get the same time.

    2. Have you "cleaned" the XPPIL files by deleting the dll's in the XPPIL file and the assemblies in the modelstore database

    3. Do you have an antivirus running which is scanning your dll's folder on the AOS and slowing down the system?

    4. Have you stopped all batch jobs while you are running CIL?

    5. What do your system RAM look like while running the CIL?  Are you going up to 90%?

    6. Are any of your Services Actively processing information while you run the CIL?

    7. Did you compile first, of course?  Are you actually able to complete the compile with no errors?

    8. Did you rebuild the indexes on the modelstore?

    9. Did you check the transaction log of the modelstore and make sure that you have adequate disk space?

    10. Did you recently upgrade but not update the schema version of the modelstore or is the checklist not fully complete?

Those would probably be the most common reasons for the behavior you are seeing off the top of my head.

If you are talking about multiple AOS instances, it is rarely the case for any non-Production environment.

First word of advice: never do changes or customizations directly on a Production instance, refer to the guide of promoting code between environments using an AX ModelStore:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../hh292604.aspx

Once you step away from that model, you would realize what you need is a single Build/Staging environment with a local SQL Server and AX AOS+client installation, where you may do the compilation. Ideally what you need is a local SSD disk, 32+ GB RAM, and minimum 8 CPU cores (the higher the clock speed the better). That would guarantee a 12-20 minutes CIL compilation time tops.

Also make sure you do regular database maintenance for your indexes and statistics, and switch SQL database logging to simple mode.
