We have two HoloLens 2 headsets and would like to purchase Dynamic 365 with Remote Assist for HoloLens. The link i have is not working, Microsoft. What I need to find out is, how do i purchase a one year subscription and will separate users on the HoloLens need their own Dynamic 365 with Remote Assist for HoloLens licenses, or do we only need one license that is shared by all users on the HoloLens?
Hi Scott. If you log into admin.microsoft.com and go to Billing > Purchase services, you should be able to purchase licenses for Remote Assist there. If you have a partner or enterprise agreement you may need to check about purchasing through those channels.
Ideally you would have a license for each user, as all meetings, files, and other communications will be saved to the logged in user's account. It is technically possible to use a system account and have multiple users log into Remote Assist with that account, but you would have to create a "system" user in your tenant and assign the license to that user. Just remember that all saved content will be saved to that user's teams/one drive, and you won't be able to track who is making calls.
From a compliance perspective I would check with your Microsoft sales rep or account team to make sure you have the proper licensing for that use case. That is technically a device license, which may be treated differently and I am not sure of the current guidance on that.
