Migrating GP to BC

Hi,

We are a user of GP in Malaysia and would like to migrate to Dynamics 365 Business Central. I had read that there is a migration tool - Cloud Migration Setup which will assist on the migration activities but it is only supported in US, Canada, UK and Australia.

Appreciate if someone can advise us:

1. Will the tool be available in near future for other countries?

2. If is not available, what other options are available to perform the migration?

3. We would like to move past historical data to Azure Data Lake. Based on what i read, the tool can also assist on migrating the historical data to Azure Data Lake. Without the tool, how can we achieve that?

Would be great if there are other users/partners who had performed such activities and can advise us on the tips and techniques of the migration exercise.

Thank you,

May

    Hello,

    You refer to this documentation:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../migrate-dynamics-gp

There may be third party tools out there that can do this, but I leave this to the partner community to answer.

    Thank you.

    Hi Marco,

    Thank you for giving advise.

yeah.. i had gone through that page and there's where found out that the tool is not supported in my country.

Do you think is possible for us to request from Microsoft to release that tool to our country? Coz, that feature/extension already includes all the extended tables and page list.

Also, when i go through, it also have function to move historical to Azure Data Lake which is exactly what required.

    Thanks

    Hello,

You could raise it as a feature suggestion: https://aka.ms/bcideas . I do not know either why this is not supported for your country. Good to raise it there first. We haven't probably gotten to it due to other priorities.

    Thank you.
