login permissions for a user

Hi all,

I have a requirement in business central such that I want to give customized permissions to a user. For that, I only want that the user has just login access. Is there a set of minimum permissions which are required to give only login access in business central.

For example, there is a user to which I only want to provide permission to create time sheets. But for this, first it must login to the system, so apart from the time sheet access, what are the bare essential list of permissions it needs to log into business central? Please help!

Thanks in advance.

RE: login permissions for a user

    Hi,

This is difficult to generalize. Depends on the RoleCenter and any other module/extension which might be installed in your system.
As a starting point, there is a permission recorder: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/dynamics365/business-central/ui-how-users-permissions#to-create-or-modify-permission-sets-by-recording-your-actions

Another starting point could be the permission set "D365 BASIC".
Assign this permission set and then start to remove entries and see how far the user can navigate.
