delete optionset value

Posted on by 2,397

Hi, I am trying to delete option set values in dev env, and move it to prod with a managed solution, but I can still see the values in prod. Do I have to delete the values manually in prod ?

    Hi,

Please identify the solution using which you introduced the option set in production (you can so it by looking at the solution layer of the option set).

Then create a upgrade solution (and remove the required value from the option set) of that source solution and import it in the production.

    Hi,

If you import a managed solution into a system and change a component of that solution in the default solution, then that component will not be changed in the future when you import the solution again.

If you have already done this, then you must change this component once again in the standard solution after you have imported the solution.

To work around this, you could uninstall the managed solution, but be aware that it may have many dependencies and records may be lost.

Otherwise, you can check the default solution to see if the component values have been changed correctly. If not, then the solution was not imported correctly. If it was, then it is usually a cache problem. Publish the solution again and test it again.
