Hi Experts,

Hope everyone doing great!

I have an issue with Summary trial balance report in AX 2012 R3.

Above image refers to parameters which we are passing to generate the report. Now, Report is taking to much time to load a data still no response from report.

Added the report in batch as well and waited for 1 day. Still batch is executing only.

Need some idea to get the report ASAP. Kindly help me here.

Hello Vignesh,

How many business units and how many ledger accounts do you have?

If you run and open the trial balance list page does it also take very long to open and calculate the balances?

Hi Ludwig,

Thanks for your response!

1. We have only two BU.

2. We have 331 ledger accounts. Few accounts belongs to 1st BU and other accounts belongs

2nd BU.

3. It has taken only less than 20 seconds to calculate the balances on trail balance list page in AX.

In Trail balance report, we are trying to fetch the records for 1st BU-Dimension. That only taking more time to execute. It is keep on loading and AX(Not responding).

Hi Vignesh R,

Can you please do a Rebuild balances on the same financial dimension set or on all sets as available in 'Financial dimension sets' form in General ledger module. Once you done this, then re-run the TB with this financial dimension set.

Good Morning Vignesh,

Rebuilding and updating the balances - as Sourav mentioned - is a good idea.

What you can try else is running this report in batch mode.

Yet with 331 accounts and a couple of business units only the report should finish processing in less than a minute in my opinion.

What about the trial balance form that allows you calculating the balances in an online form in GL?

If you use the same dimension set, does it also take very long to run the balance calculation?

Do you know if modifications have been made to this standard report and if one of your colleagues runs this report does it also take long?

Hi Ludwig,

Good Morning!

1. We have tried with Sourav idea - Still no response from Report.

2. If i choose the BU Dimension in TB list page, it is taking less than a minute to load the data.

3. No, there is no modification done on Summary TB Report.

4. We have added the report in batch mode also, it's been one and half days completed -no response.

What could be the reason that report is taking so long to execute?
