Hi,  I am wondering if there is any documentation that discusses the compatibility of SQL Server 2014 SP2 with the DynamiscAX 2012 R3 CU10 release?  Does Microsoft have an official stand on it?

Thanks

    Hi DBGRL93,

Please refer to system requirements doc www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

It has all details about supported SQL versions.

    blogs.technet.microsoft.com/.../microsoft-edge-chrome-and-sql-server-2014-sp2-are-now-supported-with-ax-2012-r3-and-ax-2012-r2

SQL Server 2014 SP2 is officially supported with CU11. However, we are about to go live with SP2CU1 on R3 CU10 and have not found any issues so far.

Thanks for the reply.  This helps, my users would still feel more comfortable with something in black and white.

    Documentation says:

Microsoft SQL Server 2014, Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition, or Business Intelligence Edition.

Service Pack 1 (www.microsoft.com/.../det ails.aspx?id=35575) for Microsoft SQL Server 2014 is supported with the following updates:

    • Cumulative update 8  (mbs2.microsoft.com/Knowledgebas e/KBDisplay.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;3042171) for AX 2012 R2 • Cumulative update 9  (mbs2.microsoft.com/.../KB Display.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;3063879) for AX 2012 R3

    Notes:

    • SQL Server 2014 is supported by default with AX 2012 R3.

However, the specific SP2 and above are only officially supported from CU11 as per the separate blog post.

So black and white: Not officially supported with CU10

By experience: Works like a charm, but you will not get an official statement for this out of Microsoft

Please do not hijack threads, open a new thread for a new question. Also your request is very vague, in your new topic explain it better on what do you mean by offline database synching, since there is no such thing in AX.
