One of our client need to migrate from US Tenant the Dynamics 365 BC to India Tenant Dynamics 365 BC. They are using US version of Dynamics 365BC in US Tenant and need to move this version to India Tenant. I have a doubt when we migrated to India tenant , Extension deployment, Data Migration will work perfectly or how it behaves.

Thanks in Advance

    Here's some documentation:

    • Environment data will remain unchanged during the move operation. The exact same environment will be linked to a specified Microsoft Entra tenant.
    • The localization, Azure region, and type of the environment (Production or Sandbox) will remain the same, and can't be changed during this operation.
    • The operation will involve a downtime period for the environment being transferred (typically not exceeding 30 minutes).
    • The operation does not move subscriptions, domains, and other resources between the Microsoft Entra tenants. Ensure the destination tenant has a paid Business Central user subscription and sufficient environment quota before accepting the transfer.
    • If you rename an environment upon acceptance in the destination tenant to avoid duplicate environment names in your tenant no Rename operation will be created on the Operations page in the Admin Center. Rather, the Transfer Operation will include the source and destination environment names.
    • Environment settings are carried over from the source to the destination tenant. Depending on the nature of the environment transfer settings such as the Application Insights Connection String or Partner Access set up on the environment may need to be changed or removed.
    • Environments that are linked to a Power Platform environment cannot be transferred. Unlink the Business Central environment before creating a transfer on the source tenant.

    Hi Selvi,

I won’t be impacted, as I’ve previously migrated a U.S. Business Central tenant to Canada. However, please ensure that all add-ons are available in the country you’re migrating to.

I also recommend first migrating a sandbox environment, testing at least 20 to 30 use cases, and then proceeding with the production move.

Let me know if you need any help!

    Thanks.

    Hi
You could transfer the US environment to another tenant, but it will still be a US environment, it will not have been migrated to an Indian version. What do you want to do?

Just I need to migrate the US tenant-US version of BC to India Tenant US Version of BC. The version of D365 BC is same in Both Tenant.

    Hi
So the "transfer environment" feature mentioned by other colleagues is what you need.

As gdrenteria mentioned, as long as you don't change the County/Region of the environment, you only need to use the Transfer environments between Microsoft Entra tenants function that we all mentioned.

    Thanks
