How to enable generation of electronic invoices?

Hi,

I want to generate electronic invoices for a customer. I found this article

(AUT) Generate electronic invoices in PEPPOL format | Microsoft Docs

At some point the article refers to an eInvoice check box on the Invoice and Delivery FastTab on the Customers form. However, the eInvoice checkbox is not present on the Invoice and Delivery FastTab in my case.

I'm using AX 2012 R3. What could be the reason this checkbox is missing? Is there any way I can generate electronic invoices for a customer, without the eInvoice checkbox?
