Does SQL server 2016 support Reporting and Analysis services in AX 2012 R3 CU11?

Hi,

I have already installed Ax 2012 R3 CU 11 and SQL 2016 SP1. When I try to install Analysis and Reporting Services components received the below error saying install supported SQL version. I tried to install Connector for Microsoft Dynamics Ax received the same error. Then I got this like which shows that SQL 2016 doesn't support DIXF but we can if we install the specified KB. But I installed SQL 2016 SP1 (which included all the fix including the KB) https://community.dynamics.com/ax/f/33/t/210097. Does anyone help me to resolve this issue?

Have you opened the required firewall ports? It is needed in order to discover the services.

    Hi Vilmos Kintera,

    Thanks for your prompt response.

Firewall is off in SQL server. Is there any other place I have to check?

Check your AX AOS and the SSRS / SSAS instances too. It is usually the firewall that blocks installing such components.

I agree, but in my case both server firewall is in off mode.

Is the installer which you have used slipstreamed, so does it have the same patch level (CU11) kernel hotfix in the Updates folder? If not, then try to add the kernel hotfix of the CU to have a slip-stream installer and check if that makes any difference.

    Hi Umash,
