The regular export service in Customer Engagement is literally terminated by end of the year. Microsoft advocates the new methods of pushing data to datalake using the change data capture. There is radio silence regarding the fate of BYOD.
We have a large number of low volume customers very happy with just BYOD .
Has anyone information on the future of BYOD. Will it be terminated as well, of kept (unsupported) as a feature ?
You mentioned Customer Engagement, but you're asking in Dynamics 365 Finance Forum. Which of the products do you actually mean?
You're right. I mentioned CE as an example (of the deprecation that is actually communicated) The challenge we are facing is with D365UO (Dynamics 365 Finance as it is called here)
Nothing is communicated about Data management as it is used by virtually each customer and in many cases it is actuelly good enough. We know it will never be updated, but MS has a habit of retaining old technology anyway. So, we're interested in MS's plan for that functionality..
I think that deprecating BYOD would make sense when all the planned features are implemented in Azure Data Lake (which will take a few years). But I haven't heard about any plan in this area.
